  • Winter storm watch posted for potential snow and ice–A low pressure system is forecast to move across North Carolina on Monday and Tuesday, bringing accumulating snow, sleet and freezing rain too much of the state, but the Outer Banks might be spared the worst of the wintry weather. The National Weather Service on Sunday issued a Winter Storm Watch for all of eastern North Carolina for Monday evening through Tuesday morning.

  •    Feb 21, 2015Gather around the fire with us at Oden’s Dock for an old-fashioned oyster roast. We’ll have fresh oysters on hand, seafood chowder, fried fish and other refreshments. Be sure and save room for homemade dessert for an additional donation at a bake sale table. Hear live music from a local band, “Dragonfly”, challenge your friends to a game of corn hole to win prizes and enjoy good company among federation staff, board members and volunteers. An oyster roast for the coast! Tickets are available online  This event is planned to take place outdoors, please dress accordingly. In the case of extremely bad weather, the event will take place at the Hatteras Village Civic Center.

  • Feb 26, 2015Dr. John Sanchez will again be performing at Kelly’s on Thursday, February 26 from 7:00pm until 10:00pm to support the Community Care Clinic of Dare. Tickets are $10 and will be available at all Southern Bank locations, Outer Banks Urgent Care (in Nags Head) and at the door.
